sUSTAINABILITY

Endeavour Gardens promotes recycling and composting.

RECYCLING

The yellow bins located next to building J allow our residents to recycle hard plastic, glass and paper.

As a reminder, no plastic bags or other soft plastic stuff can be placed in these bins.

The easy way to tell if plastic is soft or hard is the scrunch test. If it scrunches into a ball it's soft, if it holds it's shape it's hard.

Examples of soft plastic:

  • Plastic shopping bags.

  • Bread, rice, pasta, lolly and cereal bags.

  • Biscuit packs (but not the trays)

  • Frozen food bags.

  • Bubble wrap.

Soft plastic can only be recycled at the RedCycle Bin at Coles or Woolworths.

Other plastics that should not be left in the yellow bins are plastic items smaller than a credit card, like bottle lids. Check lids4kids.com.au for the proper way to recycle them.

Composting

The composting bin is located between building K and H.

This is the place to leave kitchen scraps. Only vegetarian leftovers can be placed here. Please don't leave any kind of meat, dairy products or plastic bags here.
